PUTRAJAYA: The people's representatives in this country are urged to re-strengthen the people's trust and confidence in the democratic system in Malaysia.

"Many have lost faith in democracy and this is a big challenge for YB (elected representatives) to prove that democracy is getting fresh and fertile in our country".

Here, if we see, the people want 'monitoring democracy‘, they want to monitor what these YB-YBs are doing and what is happening in democracy itself. On behalf of the people's representatives, they are aware of this and the only important challenge now is to restore the people's trust in democracy, "he said.

Meanwhile, when asked about whether the Anti-Party Jumping Act was enacted to prevent elected representatives from jumping the party, Shamrahayu said, the decision of elected representatives who choose to jump the party should not be hindered as it is the right of freedom of any politician other than freedom in the democratic system.
