Georgetown, firemen took more than one hour to help a Myanmar national when his hand got stuck in a meat grinder on Jan 31, Sunday. A Penang Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the victim, who is in his 20s, was working at a premises at Taman Relau Jaya.
"A total of six firemen from the Paya Terubong fire station were dispatched to the location after the department received a distress call at 4.33pm," said the spokesman.
The spokesman said firemen had to disassemble the machine to free the man's right hand in an operation that ended at about 5.40pm.
The victim then was rushed to Penang Hospital for further treatment.
