Grab said two-thirds of the charges would be used to further improve product features that help passengers and drivers. While another third will be used in the driver assistance initiative.
Grab in Singapore has now announced that they will implement the introduction of platform charges starting next December 18. Grab will charge $ 0.30 as a platform charge for each tour book in Singapore from that date.

Through the Grab Singapore special site, they also stated that the platform charges are different from the commissions taken from drivers. The commission received is said to be used for Grab operations, in addition to cash transaction charges and others. But right now they only announced in Singapore only. We don't know if we got in Malaysia also.
