LONDON - Andrea Dovizioso manager Simone Battistella admits the Italian rider is ready if the Honda team calls him to replace Marc Marquez who is currently struggling in the recovery process due to past injuries.

Marquez underwent his third surgery in December last year and required a minimum rest period of 6 months, forcing the Honda camp to forget the top rider this season.

Battistella insists Dovizioso is undergoing motocross training and is ready to compete again in this season's MotoGP race.

"There is still no call from Honda yet and if the team offers a place for Dovi I think he is ready to play again.

"He often does motocross training such as preparing for the pre-season MotoGP test session later.

"I think, Honda is now more careful in making decisions and they no longer want to make mistakes a second time. Next month is an important decision they will make.
